More dog pictures, you say?

Memphis and I headed out to the woods last weekend for another photoshoot with my new camera. I have to thank our friends Jen and Gary (of gigantic dog fame) for recommending the Nikon D40. I'd name it Lucille if that didn't imply that I knew how to use it.

Here's one that got away. This would have been the best picture I've ever taken if I hadn't been focusing on the effing tree in the background instead of the dog. Regardless, I need to get Memphis a cape:

Here's the best of the rest. All of these were taken in James Baird State Park. My apologies for posting a hundred pictures of my dog, but Memphis needs your attention right now. I'm too busy uploading pictures of her.

  1. Wow, those mastheads get better and better. I bet he makes some for you that don't even make the cut. You should post them in one big entry of all the mastheads that didn't make it to the top of the page. It's only fair.

  2. This is just a precursor to when the baby arrives, isn't it? I'm not complaining, I'm the uncle of five... I've been through this before. I haven't seen pictures of my brothers' dogs in years--plenty of the kids.

Come fall, please post an occasional Memphis picture for the childless/dog lover readers.

  3. Sure, thank your OTHER friends for recommending the Nikon D40. It's not like I owned the Nikon D40X for the last year.

Although I did upgrade to the D90 a couple months ago, I could have answered many questions for you.

  4. Okay, you know what... in regards to those "mastheads" - I unfortunately have a life and too many other things to do than sit and play at a computer all day; I was hoping I would have some time to design some - but alas, I have to pack and move to Dallas. Do you think your buddy that makes mastheads gets any? Based on all these unique, time consuming headers I could only guess that he sits in a dark room and hasn't had sex in quite a while.

  5. Mike- Just because I am a pro at graphics and I share my talent doesn't make me some hobbit in some dark hole.... although I have to admit your friend Jered isn't too far off from the truth. I haven't had sex in about a year and my 1TB hard drive is almost full of internet porn. I think I keep Lubriderm in business.

  6. Mike, don't you think its time to start moderating up in this peice? Also, Jered, are you really moving to Dallas, you p.o.s.? When?

  7. Jered Earl -- That's not a bad idea. I'll fire that up.

Chris -- I covered Memphis' eyes so she couldn't read your comment. I'm sure I'll post lots of pictures of her, if she's standing behind the baby.

Jered -- You never mentioned a thing about it, Mr. D90pants. Thanks for the retroactive non-advice.

Perlson -- Dude, I really thought that was you until I read the next comment.

Real Perlson -- I don't know, man. I think I like Fake Perlson better, even though he really is moving to Dallas, that jerk.

  8. My God, it's been too long since I've been here. I have to confess I didn't even know about the baby!!
My apologies, and my congratulations in one fell swoop! (I've always wanted to use "one fell swoop" in a sentence.) My only excuse is I have been busy getting divorced. And getting replaced by a WAY TOO YOUNG FOR YOU, YOU OLD, BEER-SWILLING, REDNECK BASTARD, Chinese probable hooker. (and by YOU, I certainly don't mean you, I mean the old, beer-swilling, redneck bastard.)

I think the comments are as good as the posts, Mikey. Notice I didn't say better. Because my middle name is "TACTFUL". :)

  9. melodyann -- Well, dude! Glad you're caught up now, and I hope things are getting sorted out with your probable Chinese hooker issues. That goes for the rest of my blog friends, too.
