Thanks to everyone who left comments and/or sent good vibes our way over the past couple of days. I read all of your comments to Kara while she was recovering and she got a kick out of them, especially the ones that made fun of me.
Evan is still rocking his incubator at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, doing great, and his doctor is hopeful that 3-4 more weeks there should probably do the trick. I'll post more later, just wanted to give a quick update and say a sincere thank you for the kind words and support.

Dude, we know you're a smart guy so there is no need to keep spelling out "Neonatal Intensive Care Unit". It's the NICU - just save me the time reading and start abbreviating. Ask all the nurses where you're at and they'll reply, "The NICU silly."
ReplyDeleteHey man, I didn't know if people were down with the hospital lingo or not. I didn't want to just start throwing NICU around and have people think I was talking about that show NCIS, even though nobody I know has ever watched it.
ReplyDeleteHang in there during the hospital stay. It's hard, but it's for the best. And, besides, once you are back home, you have to give up things like sleeping and showering for a while. :) Best to you all!
ReplyDeleteI love the photos of the tiny little hands.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Evan is in good hands in the NICU. I hope you are Kara are getting some sleep while you can 'cause in 3-4 weeks (and at least the next 18 years) you'll be dog tired. ;)
"The NICU silly" Hahahah. That's funny, Jered. Only a gay male nurse would say that.
ReplyDeleteThe three of you make one beautiful family and Evan will be home before you can say, "ohmyGodbutwejustfinishedchangingyourdiaper!".
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the photographs of your family's joy and Happy Father's Day, Dad!
I love that picture. What a beautiful Father's Day present. Happy early Father's Day, Dad!
